Washington DC – The World Bank has recently published its report "Doing Business 2012" comparing 183 countries.Ten topics are included in the aggregate ranking on the ease of doing business and other summary measures. The goal is to provide an objective basis for understanding and improving the regulatory environment for business.

Malaysia has moved up five notches to 18th place in the Report 2012, ahead of  economies such as Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Switzerland. This is also a result of the work of a Special Taskforce to Facilitate Business (PEMUDAH) which has been installed in year 2007 with the goal to address bureaucracy in business-government dealings.

Kuala Lumpur - The Department of Statistics of Malaysia published a preliminary report on the census 2010. This Preliminary Count report  shows that the total population of Malaysia is 27,565,821 which comprises 14,112,667 males and 13,453,154 females. Average annual population growth rate for the period of 2000-2010 is 2.17%.

Census 2010 is the fifth census conducted for Malaysia and gives an good overview on the demographics of the Malaysian population. The full report can be downloaded from the website of the Department of Statistics of Malaysia.
